Marvel's:The Avengers (2012)

Marvel's: The Avengers (2012)

Welcome back...

It has been a few days since I have watched a new movie or a previously watched movie. It is crazy because I usually can not go on days without watching a single movie. Anyways, I watched The Avengers today, probably the fourth time, and I feel like giving a feedback. I used to mock my brother for liking this movie a lot. But actually, this movie really is entertaining. The concept of all our favorite Marvel superheroes in a single movie is exciting.

The Avengers really meant a lot to those comic book fans, who loved the Marvel Comic books. This movie has everything to offer, from amusing dialogues, inter-team conflicts, hard packed actions to a bad-ass villain. Though the movie was interesting, I could not help but wonder: All this action, all these dialogues and conversations with each other and Loki just to gain possession of a cube. It means no more than a cube to me, but in the Marvel world, it is the Tesseract, the source of ultimate power.

Anyways, I highly recommend this movie to all the action movie and Marvel fans out there...that is if they haven't already watched it (everyone has). I would give this movie a 6.5/10. Many like my brother will not agree with me regarding the rating, but I am confident that action movie fans would easily rate this movie above an 8/10.

See y'all next time.

The Matrix (1999)

The Matrix (1999)

Today, I watched The Matrix and I felt like sharing my movie experience on the blog. Before I begin my recommendation, let me inform you that I will not be summarizing the plot of this movie cuz damn, the plot is really confusing. The movie is based on, as the name suggests, The Matrix, which is a sort of machine Utopia that has thousands of people living inside of it. The Matrix is a sort of virtual world made up by computer signals which adapted so that it could trap and accommodate people. The people living in the Matrix feel that everything is perfect and that they are no problems.

The protagonist, Neo (Keanu Reaves), enters the Matrix by wish to find out more about the secret. Morpheus, the head of an undercover organization within the matrix has great hopes that Neo is the Chosen One, the one he has been waiting for a long time. The Agents are humans railing against the Matrix and wish to destroy the Matrix, and Morpheus's team. I think I have explained enough about what the movie is about.

For people related to computer or technological fields, this movie is a must watch. I liked how the movie makes implicit connections to Lewis Caroll's Alice in Wonderland and The Truman Show. The movie also has many philosophical concepts understood by only those who wish to understand them. Anyways, I liked this movie, and thereby I recommend it.

See you people at the next movie discussion.

Now You See Me (2013)

Now You See Me (2013)

How many of you are interested in magic, or have a certain propensity of being deceived? This question is in fact relevant to the movie I will be discussing today. Now You See Me is a movie based on the art of magic, or in other words, the art of deceiving to fulfill a surreptitious motive. This movie ostentatiously presents the art of magic to swindle people in order to fulfill a vengeful motive. The dialogues of the movie are very intriguing. I found the first dialogue in the prologue of the movie by Daniel Atlas very interesting, but it was damn confusing at first cause the guy talks so fast!!

Anyways, the main protagonist of the movie is an FBI agent, Mark Ruffalo, who is appears hopeless and unsuccessful in capturing the magicians. The magicians of the movie are the four Horsemen. They wish to use magic to obfuscate the major gap between the rich and the poor. Sort of Robin Hood stuff I guess. Anyways, the Horsemen perform in multiple shows, robbing the rich, corrupt guys and giving the robbed cash to the unfortunate people or people cheated upon. The FBI agent tries to catch the Horsemen about 3 times, after a long chase, but is unsuccessful.

The scene I liked the most in the movie was the last part. The suspense was so unexpected that it didn't make sense at first. As time goes by, you'd be like....oh that's why he/she was acting like that. I ain't going to tell you that scene of course, cause there is no use watching the movie if you already know the suspense. But, Now You See Me does provide other thrills besides the suspense. The magic show performances are awesome. The movie also gives a few laughs here and there. I recommend this movie to people who like magic or suspense. People who also have wondered how magic tricks function should give it a watch.

Annabelle (2014)

Annabelle (2014)

Hello movie enthusiasts,

Today I am back to discuss another movie. I watched Annabelle the third time yesterday and I thought that I should discuss my overall movie experience and recommend it to those people who haven't watched it. We all recognize Annabelle as the creepy doll in the Conjuring movie. The reason why all horror movie fans filled the theaters during the first week of the Annabelle release was because of the punchline "Annabelle: The story before the Conjuring". Horror fans loved the Conjuring so much, they couldn't wait till the release date of Annabelle. But to clear any misconceptions for those who have not watched Annabelle, I must say that Annabelle is not related to the Conjuring story in any way whatsoever. The characters are different. The only similarity in both the movies is the music that comes out of the toy and the presence of the creepy doll, staring back.

Anyways, the movie starts out with pregnant woman, Mia and her husband. They are a very happy couple and are excited for the entry of a new member in their family. All is fine till the husband gifts Mia a creepy doll. Mia loves the doll and places it on the shelf with the rest of her collection. A few days later, a two members of a satanic cult, Annabelle Wallis and her boyfriend, kill their neighbors and attack Mia. Mia is stabbed in the attack and is hospitalized. The baby suffers the trauma but Mia becomes more anxious and nervous after the attack. A few days later, their house sets on fire and a unknown entity drags Mia in the house. Some people save Mia and she is taken to the hospital where she gives birth to a baby girl, Leia. Things seem to be going better after the baby arrives until the weird occurrences continue. Mia sees Annabelle Wallis repeatedly and she also encounters the devil one day. These occurrences convince Mia that something malicious and deadly is after the soul of her baby and that she must protect her family. I left the rest of the movie for you to watch.

I recommend this movie to all the horror movie fans, or to those people who liked the Conjuring movie. This movie has the potential of giving you the creeps. Some scenes of the movie are scary. Moreover, the image of the omnipresent, evil stare of the Annabelle doll in our mind makes us wanna look over our shoulder at night.

Despicable Me (2010)

Despicable Me (2010)

Good Day readers,

Today I will be discussing my second favorite animated movie. I have watched it about 50 times literally. It is so damn entertaining and funny I will probably watch it another 50 times. Everything about the movie, from the name to the characters to the plot is unique and revolutionary in the animated movie industry. Though the movie has a ton to offer, the main attractions of the movie are probably the Minions, Agnes and Gru.

There are many things I felt amusing about the movie including Gru's accent, the Minions antiques and the dumb villain Vector. The movie presents many interesting places like The Bank of Evil, the amusement park, Gru's Home and the Workplace where the Minions reside. The fact that the protagonist of the movie, Gru, is actually a villain plotting to steal the moon, distinguishes this movie from the rest.

Besides being funny and entertaining, this movie also has an emotional concept between Gru and the girls he adopts, Edith, Margo and Agnes. I feel this movie is perfect for a gloomy day. After you watch the movie, you feel instantly better and forget to worry about everything bothering you. Anyways, there is no need to recommend this movie for a specific group of movie watcher. Anyone, from 0-100 years can watch this movie and anyone preferring any type of genre should watch this movie because this movie breaks all the filtering of movie- watchers based on age, preferences, or other characteristics.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(2005)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(2005)

I welcome you back with another fantasy movie discussion starring Johnny Depp. I love the relation Depp has with fantasy movies. He can carry out the most ridiculous, mad and funny role ever created. Some of his most outrageous roles include the Mad Hatter, Captain Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka, Barnabus Collins, and I thinks I am missing a few more. Anyways, he stars in this movie as Willy Wonka, the half mad chocolatier.

The movie follows the story of a young, poor and well-behaved boy, Charlie. He gets a long awaited chance to visit the chocolate factory of Willy Wonka. 5 children including him are to be selected to earn a big prize, a prize no one could ever imagine. The 4 children excluding Charlie are spoiled brats and are eliminated one by one in the most hilarious ways. Charlie remains and inherits the awesome prize. But there is a turning point, and the plot does not unweave as expected. But don't worry, I won't tell you the twist in the plot.

Anyways, there are many reasons why I absolutely loved this movie. The first reason is the cast. Freddie Highmore playing Charlie is an absolutely apt decision made by the casting team. Moreover, what could be a better decision than casting Johnny Depp as Willy? The second reason is the visual effects and animation effects within the movie. The story and plot is also amazing (the story is actually that of the book of the same name). The moral of the movie also has a lasting effect. It highlights the importance of families in all of our lives.

I recommend this movie to all fantasy lovers and children's movie lover (or Johnny Depp fans :p).

Alice in Wonderland (2010)

Alice In Wonderland (2010)

Hi Readers,

I am posting after a pretty long time. Anyways, today I will be presenting another movie review cum recommendation. All of you must have watched an older version of Alice in Wonderland, or at least may have read the book. I have watched the Disney old version of Alice in Wonderland. I love the concept of Wonderland. It is a land of utter fantasy, where reality stands no chance. I have watched the 2010 movie of Alice in Wonderland 5 times already and I thought is was much better than the original Disney one. The animations are mindblowing, and the character performances are flawless. I mean, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in the same movie is enough to guarantee an enthralling movie exerience.

The characters in the movie are very imaginative and funny. The Mad Hatter, the Rabbit, Absolem, The Chessire Cat, the Fat Boys, the Jabberwocky, the Red Queen and the White Queen are the main fantastical characters of the movie. My favorite character of the movie is Chessire Cat. I love his mysterious smile, evaporative power and his beliefs regarding imagination and fantasy. The overall visual effects of the movie are great. This is probably the greatest fantasy movie ever made. It can be equally enjoyed by children, teens and adults.

The dialogues of the movie are equally fascinating though they are just descendants of the original ones. Some of my favourite dialougues are:

Shrek

Shrek

Thank you for being present at another movie recommendation. Today I'll be discussing one of my favorite movies, Shrek. I have probably watched Shrek at least a hundred times since I was a kid. I enjoyed the second Shrek too. That last two movies of the Shrek franchise weren't as good as their precedents, nevertheless I enjoyed them too.

Ever since I was a kid I loved the fantasy world and I used to wish that I could somehow transmit myself into the land of Far Far Away. Even today, animated movies are my life. Shrek is my favorite animated movie. It is entertaining, humorous and has a unique plot. The characters of Shrek are really funny. First, there's Shrek, a damn ugly ogre. Shrek is a complex character to understand. He appears to be a tough merciless monster on the outside, but actually, he is just someone who needs a friend and a true love. Yeah, he does get a friend, Donkey. Donkey is my favorite character of the movie. He is the irritating sidekick who can't keep his mouth shut for a second. He is a really funny and great friend. Eddie Murphy's voice of Donkey is awesome. Shrek happens to fall in love with a beautiful princess, Fiona, who is cursed to be a half-ogre.

Anyways, you will love the movie when you watch it. It is pretty short in length, but it will give you a long journey in ''Shrek's'' world. I loved the mixing of concept. The makers mixed the conventional 'rescuing the princess' concept with talking animals, well known fairy tale characters and weird talking animals. I also loved the music and soundtracks. I recommend this movie to all animated movie lovers and fantasy fans. If you have already watched the move, you should watch it again, because you'll probably enjoy it more the second,third.....infiniteth time.

Wait for my next post.
